20BREW Haltech E6K Ignition Setup quick docs by Brian D. Cain (BDC) Aug 2002 bdc196@attbi.com * This document is meant for wiring up and setting up an E6K to run on a 20B using * NO TRAIL SPLIT timing utilizing three FC3S leading coil/ignitor pairs. * Thanks to Matt Leicher (www.hitman.hm) for original pin layout [FC3S Leading Coil/Ignitor Pairs Wiring] - All black (GND) bullet connector leads leave open (ignitors are grounded to the chassis metal) - All red/black leads going from ignitor to coil leave alone (The - and + ones) Front rotor coil/ignitor: - TAN, switched +12VDC, fused to 10A - PINK, signal lead from E6K (IGN OUT, 18awg LIGHT GREEN) Centre rotor coil/ignitor: - TAN, Switched +12VDC, fused to 10A - PINK, signal lead from E6K (DIGOUT1, 18awg WHITE w/ BLACK STRIPE) Rear rotor coil/ignitor: - TAN, switched +12VDC, fused to 10A - PINK, signal lead from E6K (DIGOUT2, 18awg BLUE) For the three TAN/YELLOW power leads, I recommend running a separate fuse block w/ (3) 10A fuses switching power to three separate relays. One 30A relay may do it but I wouldn't try it. You can mount the three relays right next to each other in tandem on the firewall. Use 12 or 14awg wiring from the battery -> fuse block -> respective relay -> TAN/YELLOW lead for each ignitor. You can use any source of switched ignition +12VDC to fire up the three relays such as the same source of power for the GREY Haltech switched +12VDC lead. I recommend running (3) 30A 12VDC rated (standard) automotive relays. * Do not mistake DIGOUT2 for INJ1; INJ1 is LIGHT BLUE in colour and located on the INJ harness.
